Center for Healthy Children
The Center for Healthy Children is a free 12 week program where children with BMI’s of 30 or greater learn how to live an active & healthy lifestyle.
The goal of this program is to show participating children how maintaining both an active lifestyle and proper nutrition can improve their health and overall well-being.
Through after school programs in the fall and spring, as well as two separate summer sessions, participating children are provided with a safe environment where they’re guided through 5-6 hours of physical activity over the course of 3 days, Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday. Activities and lessons teaching the basics of nutrition are also provided to the children and their parents at the end of each day.
Working directly with schools and physician offices, Center for Healthy Children takes referrals for kids 8-12 years of age with a BMI (Body Mass Index) of 30 or greater.

Center for Healthy Children is funded through the foundation, memorials, honorariums and generous gifts from the community and NEA Baptist employees.
Our Impact
Our son Connor, has been attending the Center for Healthy Children program and has enjoyed attending the classes. I have been able to sit in on several nutrition classes which were eye opening to me. I highly recommend this program for any child or teenager. Sarah Lamkin
